Who we are:
We are an organization of lab scientists, academicians, medical doctors, nutrition experts, naturopaths, other health care, and IT specialists.
Our Mission:
Is to provide you with a state of the art, non-invasive, functional solution to gut health through lifestyle and nutrition counseling, and natural products, that is safe, affordable, and effective, based on sound scientific principles and validated laboratory evaluations.
Our premise:
Gut disorders are a manifestation of four primary factors:
- an imbalance of the microbiome, that is, a, “dysbiosis” including infection with harmful pathogens
- the intake of incompatible foods (food sensitivities and intolerances)
- a lack of adequate nutrients to support the microbiome, the gut itself, as well as the entire physiology
- genetic factors, in combination with the above
It is important to note that genetic factors can be modulated by the other components in processes known as, “epigenetic” modifications.
Almost everyone knows someone who suffers from seasonal allergies. A season’s worth of misery can be brought on by a small quantity of the allergen, which could be rag weed pollen, dog dander or any other of a number of allergens. The total exposure and intake over the course of a season might be on the order of only one tablespoon full! Consider the amount of food one consumes in that period…..wheel barrels’ full! Although the biological pathways are different between classical allergy and the various forms of gastroenteritis (e.g., Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome) the sheer quantity of food and other consumed substances, is vast. A sensitivity or intolerance to a food can be and probably is, at the root of any form of inflammatory process in the gut.
